It’s so cold my maker has a hard time keeping my batteries charged. It’s icy and I don’t get out as much so he’s creating a few new things. This one looks dangerous. I hope that he isn’t thinking about doing something terrible to me.
Taconite, coke and limestone meets digital media exhibited by a rust belt robot.
UR is made from scrap and recycled steel tubing, wire and woven scrap sheet metal. The head is fitted with a 4.3" screen digital media player and a small speaker in the head. It is fitted with bright blue 12v led rope lighting. Electricity is supplied by rechargeable batteries. UR rolls on a modified golf bag carrier but requires human intervention for mobility.
Mobility and the ability to exhibit visual and audial art in public and in context with UR's environment were my primary motivations in building and exhibiting the piece.
